Over five days, detectives with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children Unit posed as teens online. Adults reached out to arrange sexual encounters with a child, and when they traveled to meet, they met law enforcement instead.
What started as 29 arrests grew to 32 as investigators tracked down more suspects with state and federal partners, including the Northeast Florida INTERCEPT Task Force.
The men spanned every age and background, which is the point: there is no single “type” of online predator, and knowing the signs early is how parents stay ahead of it.
